Ruth has been nothing short of fantastic and we would not hesitate to use her again the next time we need a pet-sitter. I don’t usually leave reviews for things but we were so impressed with the experience we had that I feel compelled to share how pleased we are!
I was really nervous about going ahead with a pet-sitter because my 12 year old cat Pickle has a long-term condition (Pemphigus) and needs not only special food but regular medication (tablets by mouth). As it turned out I needn’t have worried at all, Ruth was so helpful and attentive to all my directions and nothing was too much. She clearly adores animals and although initially we were just looking for someone to pop in each day we decided to ask her to house-sit as well (as that was our preference in case my cat needed to go to the vets at short notice). We were away for 7 nights in total and Ruth sent us regular pictures and videos and answered all my messages really promptly. She also looked after our pet rats while we were away (and watered our plants). With the rats we told her we didn’t need her to get them out unless she wanted to but she took it upon herself to get them out a few times while we were away which was so nice for them. Overall we are so glad we chose Ruth and will definitely use her services again, thank you!
Absolutely amazing!!!!! Couldn't have asked for a better person to look after your fur babies. Ruth sent regular updates and images, her updates made my day when ever I got one :) could not recommend her enpugh!
I can not thank or recommend Ruth enough for the love and care she gave to our 3 elderly pets for 1 week in August. We have 2 elderly dogs with healthcare problems and 1 elderly cat. Ruth visited in advance to meet the pets and asked lots of questions about their care, likes, dislikes.
Ruth made the focus of her week our pets. Whilst on holiday Ruth sent us regular daily updates and pictures. She kept to the dogs routine, our dogs can not walk far but walk slow. She patiently walked them, and sent pictures of them chilling in our garden with her, as well as at the local pub where they shared Ruth’s burger! Our cat Lola also was well cared for and I can see from the photos demanded lots of fuss and cuddles. We also had pictures of all the pets happily snoozing in the living room after their lovely day with Ruth. I know my pets really well and could see from the photos and their response on our return they were happy in the care of Ruth. Ruth left our house lovely, put our bins out for us and text to ask if we would like anything such as milk from the shop for our return. Ruth is a very caring and trustworthy and we will definitely be using her if we go away again.
Ruth has both provided both cat care and house sitting for me and I cannot rate her highly enough. As a besotted cat owner, I was relieved to find someone who genuinely loves animals and cares about making sure they get love and attention every day. Ruth took care to ensure all plans for the comfort and safety of Tsuki were in place and gave me regular updates so I was able to enjoy my holiday without worrying. She was also happy (and expecting!) to receive those funny care requests that every pet owner has ("she likes her treat sticks broken into small pieces" :D). Ruth looked after our house very well and was very respectful. Happy to be a reference if any one has any questions - Ruth can arrange.
Hi! My name is Ruth, a 37 year old animal-lover from Seaford, East Sussex. Thank you for viewing my profile. I'd be delighted to hear from you if you think I may be the right person to take care of your pet for you. I can be very flexible on hours as I have no other work or child-care commitments. I am fully insured, DRB checked and a reliable, trustworthy and attentive individual. Please get in touch with your requirements and from there we can look to see if I would be a good fit for you and your pet.
A little about me: I grew up with cats and hamsters as our family pets, and I'm currently the (besotted) owner of a 6 year old cat. Many of my friends own dogs however, so whilst the majority of my skills have been acquired through cat-care, I also have a lot of experience looking after dogs too. I'm open to caring for any kind of pet, but cats I suppose are my speciality. I keep the number of pets I take on at any one time to a minimum so that I can focus on their needs fully and give them the time and attention they deserve. I would welcome the opportunity to come and visit you and your pet first, free of charge with no obligation, to check you are 100% happy with me before we settle on any arrangements. This will also provide your pet with the opportunity to meet me which will hopefully help them to feel as settled as possible when I come to look after them.
My services: The main service I offer is pop-in visits for dogs, cats and small animals whilst their owners are away. These visits would generally be half an hour in duration, 1-3 times a day, depending on need. However the duration and frequency of the visits is entirely flexible and can be arranged according to your own individual request. Please see the 'prices' tab for Seaford rates.
As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is that you feel confident your pet is receiving the best love and care possible whilst you're not there, and you can be assured that I will look after your pet as if it were my own and in exactly the way you request. Nothing is too much trouble and if you want to leave me pages of instructions to follow then that's quite okay! I understand that knowing your pet's care will continue to be as close to what they would have with yourselves is imperative. At a minimum you may just require someone to pop in to feed your pet, however depending on your pet's requirements and your wishes, I am also available to play and spend time with them, take dogs out for walks, and change litters. As long as full details and instructions are provided, I am also happy to give your pet any medication it requires. I have administered medication to both dogs and cats that I have cared for in the past. I have a car and a full clean driving licence so should your pet require veterinary attention whilst you are away, I will ensure they receive this immediately at the veterinary practice you specify. You'll receive optional daily updates from me by text, Whatsapp or email, including photos, so you can relax knowing that your pets are happy and healthy. In addition to all the above, I am also happy to carry out basic house duties that may be required whilst you're away such as taking bins out, collecting post, watering plants etc.
Home-stay / Overnight: If you are looking for someone to spend more significant time with your pet, rather than just a pop-in service, I am also available for home-stay / overnight care. I have a lot of experience in home-stay pet sitting so you can be assured that your pet/s (and your home) will be well taken care of whilst you are away. If you have any questions, or wish to make an enquiry / check my availability, please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.
